Our Story

Holding Space from Banjul to Los Angeles

Founded in The Gambia in 2018, we expanded to Southern California in 2025 to create culturally responsive, healing-centered leadership circles for Black, Brown, and immigrant young women.

Our Journey

From Grassroots to Global Leadership

Girls Talk Organisation began in The Gambia in 2018, born from a deep need for safe spaces. Our initial focus on community care quickly evolved into a powerful pipeline for youth leadership development, grounded in local wisdom and shared experience.

Expanding to Southern California in 2025, we now bridge West African community care with Los Angeles mentorship. This dual footprint ensures our healing circles and gender justice advocacy are culturally responsive and reach young women across continents.

Our Foundation

Equity, Healing, and Youth-Led Sisterhood

We believe true transformation begins with collective healing and unwavering commitment to gender justice. Our work is rooted in the conviction that every young woman holds the power to rise, lead, and transform her world.
